Card Making for Stress Relief

 Hi Hi crafty friends!

I was feeling a bit stress and came to my craft room to hide out and play.  Do you craft when stressed out? Today's card was a submission for a sketch challenge through Splitcoast Stampers

I enjoy doing their weekly challenges!  A lot of times they get me working outside the box I tend to create for myself.  I also enjoy sharing my art.

Today I decided I need to work on using up some of my stash that is retired from Stampin'Up!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ocean Friends Suite and am disappointed that it was only around for a short time.  Do you have this set?  What do you like to create with it?

I have done a few cards and a scrapbook page so far.  Here is the Stress Card called Seas of Thanks.  I hope you enjoy.

This card was simple to put together.  Just a white card base, 3 larger scraps of DSP (Designer Series Paper) a die set and some gold foil cardstock!

Although the DSP and stamps are no longer available, the Ocean Friends dies are currently still on the Website in the Last Chance section!  So, hurry over to my website if you have been wanting these dies!  You can find them here Ocean Friends dies.  Remember to select me as your Demonstrator as you check out!

Thank you so much for checking out my blog!  Please leave a comment so I know you're here!

Making Fun!

Good evening crafters!  Happy Monday (maybe)!

I spent some time in the craft room and wanted to share the MOST adorable card, ok I think there are A LOT of adorable cards out there!

I was working in my craft room on a too cute for words one page scrapbook layout and had some left over elements!  So, what did I do!? Well, created a card of course!  Not just any card, but an adorable, cute, funny, clever card!

But first, let me share the scrapbook page.

So, who puts patriotic and sea gulls together?  This girl!!  I LOVE LOVE this stamp set and wish Stampin'Up! would come out with a few more just like it!

This stamp set is a discontinued Stampin'Up! Sell-a-bration set, that I couldn't wait to get my hands on!  You may not be able to find this set, but here are a few recommendations of current sets that are adorable and available!

SILLY SAFARI PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET (ENGLISH)

LONG TIME NO SEE PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET

DARLING DINOS BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

TURTLE-Y AWESOME BUNDLE

All of these would make some really cute projects!

So, here is my easy card put together with Basic white cardstock, blending brushes, Stampin' Blends and inks, Wink of Stella marker.

Aren't those sea gulls just the greatest!!  A few swipes of the blending brush, some die cuts left over and pen work, Super Cute and quick!  I am all about making quick projects.  I don't crochet, sew, knit because it doesn't seem to hold my attention long enough to finish a project.  I fell in love with Stamping and how quickly I could create projects back in 2003!

I love to create cards as much as I love scrapbooking.  So, share below, do you make cards?  How do you use up extra supplies from your scrapbooking?

Have a crafty evening and thank you for looking!!  You will find these products and so much more at my website here Amberlynn's Shopping Link

Oh, before you leave!  Stampin'Up!, sale coming really soon (2 days to be exact) July 9th, 2025!

Shake Shake Shake!

Spending the weekend playing in my craft room!

Received a new stamp set in the mail this week and had to try it out!  Ice Cream Swirl (currently on the "Last Chance" list), I got this set as a deal since it is not only in the last chance section, there is also a discount applied.  I have wanted this set for so long and couldn't wait to get it!  Now, I guess I didn't look hard enough at the set!  It's in French LOL!  I don't mind, haha!  I will still use it.  I got this set for less than $25.00 with the dies!

I knew right away that I wanted to make a sugary sweet shaker card! I LOVE it!  Let me know what you think.  This shaker would look ADORABLE on a summer scrapbook page!

I love the detail of the swirl and cone, the pink color is so sweet and the sprinkles on the background add interest to an otherwise plain look.  This was an easy card to assemble once the elements were in place.

Totally Biased Review!!

Warning!! This is a completely biased review! Don't come at me, LOL!

Let's talk scrapbook page protectors.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Creative Memories albums, however I do NOT love the 12x12 pocket page protectors. There, I said it.

Enter Stampin' Up! Are you surprised?! Stampin' Up! has added to their scrapbooking line and I am so excited. My first try for my albums were to try out the 12x12 side load, strap hinge page protectors in my CM albums (for those of you die hard CM fans keep reading!) I am IN LOVE! Not only do they fit nicely in the CM cover sets, they are more sturdy and with them being side load the completed pages do not slip out the top of the page! Even better, page for page they are more economical than the CM protectors and the quality is much better than the protectors you can get from Hobby Lobby (yes, they have strap hinge page protectors as well).

Who's willing to give them a try?! Here's your chance! Comment below that you are willing to try the Stampin' Up! page protectors and a random entrance will win a full set of 10 pages from me! Comment below by Sunday 6/29/2025 at noon. I will go live with a random drawing to announce the winner!

Here are the ordering details;

Sunday blues Buster!

Good evening, Crafters!
I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend!

Can you believe how quickly it flew by? I’ve definitely been feeling those Sunday blues… anyone else? Instead of letting them get the best of me, I decided to shake them off with a little creativity—and I made a card!

✨ Introducing: Long Time No See! ✨

I'm especially excited about this one because I used a brand-new Stampin’ Up! stamp set that hasn’t even been released to the public yet! How cool is that?

The dachshund in this set has completely stolen my heart. Isn’t it just the most adorable thing you've ever seen? I’m already dreaming up ways to use this little cutie in so many scrapbook layouts—especially since I have a mischievous little doxie of my own

This card was created using the following;

Long Time No See stamp set

Lemon Lime Twist Ink and Marker

Strawberry Slush Ink and Marker

Darling Duckling Ink and Marker

Black Journalling Marker

Pecan Pie Marker

Basic White and Strawberry Slush Cardstock

This is a quick fun card, that I hope you enjoy!  Be ready, July 3rd is release date for this and so many other new, great Online Exclusives!

Come over and visit my website for all the goodies!!  Your Stampin' Home

Let me know what you think—and if you’ve created anything fun this weekend, I’d love to hear about it!

Look Ma, No Stamps!!

Good night haha!  This will be a late post this evening since I got busy preping for a day crop and craft.  Have you gone or attended a retreat or day crop? I LOVE spending time with my crafty friends in a fun group of like minded crafters!

Well, before I go on and on about the fun of crafting away, lets get to the reason for my post!  I have been working on using my Stampin' Up!© Designer Series Papers (DSP) for my scrapbooking.  I am extremely excited to have Scrapbooking focused on more through my favorite craft company.  I have always loved their cardstocks and DSP.

This layout is for my Tennessee album, from a visit from my husband's mother.  We had a fun day touring Nashville with her and I love how the bright colors on my DSP make the photos pop.  This was an easy layout that came together quickly.  I only used five 12x12 sheets of DSP/cardstock!  So quick AND economical!

I'm calling this layout Nashvegas!

Supplies needed

On the go 12x12 DSP
Mixed Media Florals 12x12 DSP
Whisper White cardstock 12x12

Mini Alphabet dies

5 or 6 photos (1 4x6, 1 6x4, 1 4x4, 2 3.5x5)

You will need your basics: Paper trimmer, adhesive of choice and a journaling pen.

Come check out all the pretty papers!
ladystampz.stampinup.net

Directions;

1. Trim and crop photos to the listed sizes based on your two larger photos to act as focal points on the right and left page.  (See all photos below)

2. Trim and mat your photos with Whisper White cardstock

3. Cut your DSP as follows

Choose 2 background DSP with minimal or tone on tone colors.  I chose the map look DSP for my background.

Trim the street sign DSP to 8.5x15 (cut 2) and adhere 2.5 inches down from the top of the right and left hand pages, next trim 4 strips of the mixed media "B" side to border your your DSP with the street signs, you will put one strip each on the top and bottom as shown in the picture.

4. Trim your 6x4 sub title card from the On the go 12x12 DSP with the large directional sign and your journaling spot with the arrow.  You will fussy cut out the size needed for your journal location.

5. Use scrap On The Go DSP to die cut your alphabets, depending on your choice of title, you may need to die cut several.

6. Finish by assembling your pages as shown in the photo above, fussy cut a few embellishments from your DSP
